Here is a demonstration of a technique during one of my classes at Derby City BJJ in Louisville, KY

Thank you for posting this, Chewy. I often find myself in someone’s tight side-mount, and expend so much energy trying to push their lower body down so I can slide a knee up and regain half-guard. However, at 6’5″, I find it incredibly difficult. I always feel that my body is way too spread out to make it work effectively. This technique seems to use leverage more so than brute force. Thank you for giving me something else to play with!
Hope you’re able to use it. If this technique isn’t something you practice much in your gym. Grab a buddy and drill it on the side and then give it a try. It’s one of those moves that can really catch you off guard if used against you. It’s all about catching that elbow.
